Located right in front of the ticket gate at Hon-Shiogama Station, this store combines a fresh fish and produce shop (Tasei Fish Market) and an izakaya (Shiogama Sakaba Tasei). tekute is a commercial facility operated by JR East Tohoku General Service Co., Ltd., named with the concept of "connecting the station to the town, collaborating with the community, and contributing to town development."
The fish lined up at the Hon-Shiogama Station branch are delivered directly by Tasei Fish Market staff, having been landed early in the morning in Shichigahama. It's great to be able to easily purchase fresh fish right in front of the station.
The front of the store is the fresh fish section, followed by delicacies and fruits, and at the very back is the drinking establishment (Shiogama Sakaba Tasei). In addition to sashimi, fish, nigiri sushi, side dishes, and bento boxes, they also handle products landed at Shiogama Port.
The selection of direct-from-farm vegetables is also very fresh, with only items harvested within 24 hours, accompanied by handwritten POPs with comments from local farmers.

Nappaya Chain is just a 1-minute walk from Hon-Shiogama Station. For train users, it's the kind of store you'll want to stop by on your way home. You can head there from the share house anytime until closing at 6:30 PM, so you won't have any trouble buying produce. The staff's service is also polite, making it a community-focused greengrocer loved by many.
Aeon Mall, a familiar friend to residents of regional cities. Located right in front of Hon-Shiogama Station's Aqua Gate exit, to the left, it houses over 30 shops including fresh food, fashion, miscellaneous goods, gourmet, and food. The mall is bustling with local customers all day long, enveloped in a calm atmosphere.

A long-established Japanese confectionery shop built in the early Taisho era, reusing materials from a previous building. This is also a nationally designated Tangible Cultural Property.
The famous confection "Shiogama" (志ほがま), made by adding sugar and salt to glutinous rice flour and shaping it, is a representative Japanese confectionery of Shiogama City and Miyagi Prefecture. *In the past, it was apparently called "Moshio-to" (藻塩糖), combining "seaweed" (藻), "salt from seawater" (塩), and "sugar" (糖).
Originally an "Isobe-donya" (seafood wholesaler) established in the Edo period, when economic controls after the war forced them to withdraw from the fish business, they leveraged their location to operate as a confectionery shop selling tea utensils and Shiogama to visitors of Shiogama Shrine, continuing to this day.
In addition to Japanese sweets, the store offers a rich selection of tea utensils. It's a great place to stop by for食器好き (tableware lovers) or as a memento when starting a new life.
This is a mini souvenir shop where local products from Shiogama City and Miyagi Prefecture are gathered. Machi no Eki is a 30-second walk east from the Hon-Shiogama Station Shrine Approach exit. You'll find many processed seafood products like dried fish and fish paste, sweets made with seaweed salt, and cotton textile goods and folk crafts. It's also known among Shiogama locals as a casual gathering place. It's the perfect spot to buy souvenirs from Shiogama. It might be a good idea to stop by for gifts or souvenirs for outings.
A building with green and flaxen colors, located right in front of the Yamaguchi Building where the Roopt share house is. It's a rest area with an attached osteopathic clinic "greenroom."

The owner, who runs the bookstore with his family, is currently the third generation. It has been in business for over 80 years since his great-grandfather's time. Reggae music plays softly in the store, creating a calm atmosphere.
